Fauf's Favorite Things

Oprah's not the only one who can have favorite things. Here are few of mine of late...

SLEEP! When I can get it...how precious it is. Prayers for Westly to sleep longer stretches through the night are greatly appreciated!

Baby K'tan! Westly loves being carried in this because he gets to stay close to me and he feels like he's still in the womb. Now that I know he likes this, I am able to venture out into the world!

Jamba Juice! I've had to cut down coffee because it doesn't agree with Westly via my milk. So I've taken up smoothies, which is probably healthier for me anyways!

Gilmore Girls TV Show! We started with Season 1 right before Westly came. We watched a ton when he was first here and we were recuperating. We are now on the last season!

Extreme Couponing

I'm watching this show on TLC called Extreme Couponing, where these women make it their part time job clipping coupons and organizing their shopping in such a way to save big. The go grocery shopping and buy tons of food on sale with coupons. Their total goes from like $600 to $5! No joke!

It's inspiring to save money, but honestly the thought of using coupons is overwhelming. I'm lucky to have the organization and thought to use one! Still I may start watching my mail closer now...

A Hollow Leg

I used to think it was absurd how much food my dad and brothers could pack away. They eat full meals like an infant: every few hours. When my dad goes to a restaurant, he doesn't just order one entree. He orders a salad, an entree, maybe an appetizer all for himself. And he still manages to finish anything we girls can't finish. Whenver they come to visit, I have to have lots of snacks on hand and it seems like our time together consists of talking and eating. My grandma always says the boys have hollow legs.

Well, now I can relate to them. Since breastfeeding, I am burning an extra 500 calories a day (so the books say). I am constantly hungry and I really haven't felt stuffed since before Westly came. Today I went to Subway and got a foot-long sandwich, determined to finally get stuffed, for I actually miss that feeling. I ate the whole thing and a little bag of chips and I felt satisfied....

...but not really stuffed.

I think I have a hollow leg.

Growing Up

Our little Doodle-Fig is growing and growing, in length and width, and also in independence. Just this week he went from napping like this on one of us...

...to napping like this on his own!

I am excited about this new development, as now I am free to get some things done while he naps. But a little part of me misses that dependence on me. Still I find time to cuddle him each day, because before long he may even out-grow that!

Happy Weekend

These days I look forward to the weekend almost as much as I did when I was working full time. The reason being that I miss Michael when he's at work, and don't mind his help with Westly so I can at least spend some extra minutes putting on mascara or eating my cereal at a more leisurely pace.

A few things to look forward to this weekend:

Tonight friends from church are meeting at the mall for dinner

Saturday we're free as the baby birds in our wreath to do whatever...

Sunday I get to celebrate my first Mother's Day be bringing Westly to church for the first time and getting him dedicated!

Happy weekend everyone!
