And His Name Shall Be Called...

...No, Michael has not been mute and suddenly had his tongue loosed. (I don't think even an angel of the Lord could accomplish that :) But we have decided on what to name our cuddly baby boy:

Westly Cavanaugh Shaw

Cavanaugh is an old family name on the Shaw side. We thought it was interesting and also wanted to honor the family and carry on a little Shaw legacy. Westly has always been a favorite of mine, and Michael has grown to love it as well the past months. Before we knew what Fig was, we landed on this name. Then once Fig announced he was a boy, we knew this was the only name for him.

I think he already likes it, for he's been thumping for joy quite frequently lately!

We love our teeny Westly!

Counting My Blessings

It's Thanksgiving soon again! While I am always thankful for all the blessings in my life, this is a good time to blog about them. There are countless blessings daily, but here are the big ones that come to mind...

My dear hubby, who still makes me laugh and always makes me feel special and loved. I still marvel at the way we met and how our story continues to unfold.

Our cuddly little Figgy-Boy, growing healthy and strong in my womb. Nowadays, he likes to remind me he's there by thumping inside me throughout the day.

Our family and friends who have been so supportive and excited for us and our baby. They've added so much to our joy.

Sherlock Academy and the creative outlet it's been for me. I am still in awe at its success.

The Manor...what a blessing this home has been to us and others.

Thank you, God, for all these blessings and more! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Beetles and Snails...

...And puppy-dog tails
Baby Fig has something to share with the world: "I'm a BOY!"

Our dear little Figgy-Boy is 5 months old in the womb...halfway till birth! When Dr. Dillon said, "It's definitely a boy!", we cheered and teared up. We would be happy with either, but there was a little part of Daddy-Ig that really wanted a boy, and a little part of Mommy-Fauf that had an inkling toward a boy. We are so thrilled, as is our families. We're pretty sure on Baby Boy's name (aside from its nickname Fig), but you'll have to stay tuned for that later :)

Halloween Happenings

I know this is a week late, but here are some highlights on our Halloween dinner last weekend. The decor theme was branches and crows (Michael did all the cut-outs for it). The dress up theme was Opposites. Michael went as a Twilight fan, and I went as a Harry Potter fan, which are opposites. And also opposites of what we like!
