"Curiouser, and Curiouser!"

Those are the famous words Alice utters as she enters Wonderland. And I uttered those words a few times as I slipped on her blue dress, white apron, and British accent. I quite enjoyed being her for Halloween, especially since as a little girl I had an Alice dress from Disneyland that I wore all the time. She was always my favorite character when I was a little girl. I always wished I could fall down the rabbit hole and enter the bizarre world of Wonderland. I suppose now my life is a Wonderland of adventures with my very own Mad Hatter, who celebrates and spoils me on my unbirthdays just as much if not more as on my real birthday. I can only hope I am not always running late for important dates, and will be more careful about attending royal croquet games!

And Here We Go...

Recently I've felt like I've been running, running and haven't had time to catch my breath. (I hate running by the way, as a form of exercise and I can never seem to literally catch my breath) But metaphorically, my life has been like that. I've been busy teaching art, promoting my book, making family members happy, and trying to strengthen my spiritual life. ::sigh:: And there's still more I need to do!

Finish putting my Halloween costume together (sorry, can't share details)
Plan the Halloween dinner meal
Buy Michael's birthday gift
Reschedule missed art lessons
Plan my next author visit
Watch Ever After (it came a week ago)
Clean out the garden and put it to bed for the winter
Eat another pumpkin scone before they go out of season (time flies!)
Start writing my sequel
Keep this blog up to date!

OCTOBER

I know that officially autumn started last week. But I always feel that it really doesn't get going until October. That's when I swap my summer wardrobe for the autumnal one, full of orange and grown and tan. The Manor gets a fall make-over with garlands of leaves, spiced candles, and the all-time favorite pumpkin pillow. Recipes for pumpkin cookies and apple cider are dug out from the bottom of the recipe box. And Fauf makes more frequent visits to Starbucks, placing orders for pumpkin scones and pumpkin spice lattes. ::sigh::

I also love October because it's a month of anticipation. While enjoying all the flavors of fall, I also enjoy anticipating the holidays. Halloween comes howling at our door, and then Thanksgiving arrives, which means that Christmas is not too far off. Honestly, the most wonderful time of the year is not just Christmas, but the time span from October to January. It's full of holidays, vacations, yummies, family, and knitted wear.

Oh the bliss of it all!
