Viaggiamo a Roma!

We're now allowed to talk about and plan Rome! We put if off all month because we wanted to relish the bulk of our summer vacation and not get too obsessed with Rome (because once we get home from Rome, we go right into the school year). Anyways, we agreed that this week we could get obsessed about Rome. And obsessed I am! Michael's put me in charge of planning our events, our eating plans, etc. Time to dust off the old Italian dictionary, Rome maps, and suitcases because "Viaggiamo a Roma!" (we're traveling to Rome!)

They Arrived and...

...I was still in my bathrobe!

This morning our order of 35 copies of Sherlock Academy arrived. I was most excited to see the new cover, and I was not disappointed. They look amazing! I am very excited to share these new books with everyone who ordered one....BUT you'll have to wait till at or after the book release party next Friday! Until then, the new cover is being kept underwraps....lots of bubble wrap!:)

A Moment to Catch My Breath

Whew! What a whirlwind this book has been! We made final corrections, revamped the cover, and sent for a box of 35 copies. I'm waiting breathlessly for the books to arrive. I can't wait to see the new cover. I'm even more excited to see where this book goes and where it takes me... In the meantime, I must say "thank-you" to all family and friends and a few strangers who have ordered my book. Thanks so much for your enthusiasm and support. You've all boosted my esteem as a writer and made me feel successful with my endeavor.

The Secret Package

Recently on my FaceBook I mentioned a secret package had come in the mail. I am now ready to disclose the item in the package. I self-published my children's novel titled: Sherlock Academy. It was quite surreal to see my work in a book. Thanks to the enthusiasm of my husband buzz is already spreading about my book. I am currently taking pre-orders through my husband and agent if anyone is interested in supporting the Fauf and her creative endeavors.

Magical Mischievousness

I've been reading the Spiderwick Chronicles this week. It's a children's series about kids who discover a fantastic world of fairies, goblins, and elves in their own backyard. It's been quite fun, but has also gotten me thinking. There have been some strange happenings at the Shaw Manor, which leads me to believe that the Faerie world (as it's called) exists in my own backyard too. Here's the data I've collected so far....

1. Our lawn is multi-shades of green, some shades unnaturally green (emerald almost)
2. New sprouts of grass started growing after we'd shut the sprinklers off for a whole week--makes no sense
3. Our vegetable garden is flourishing, despite Fauf's history of killing plants--makes me think those gnomes in the garden are really doing their jobs
4. Our food seems to disappear quickly from our cupboards--we can't be eating that much so fast
5. I stumbled upon this little house, but no one was home (see picture below). I plan to return and hopefully get some answers from the tenant.

Anniversary Bliss

Well, folks, it's been two years, and I'm still madly in love with my hubby and still feel like a newly wed. We went to Carmel (our honeymoon spot) to celebrate. What a lovely time we had!
