Fun with Auntie Lowie

My sister Noelle who's been living in Belize for the past year came to visit. We had such a good time together!

First night she was here we took her out for ice cream.

Saturday she and I spent the day in SLO for some lunch, shopping, and quality sister time.

We spent an evening at Avila Beach.

What a Zoo!

This weekend we took West to the Santa Barbara Zoo for the first time.
Some highlights:

We got to see the new baby giraffes!

West was thrilled to see an elephant, his favorite animal!

We rode the little train for behind the scenes peeks at the zoo.

Poor West had a nasty fall and skinned up his knee, elbow, forehead and lip.

But despite that we had a great time!

Spontaneous Fun

This week we had a little fun with some impromptu outings.

Daddy took us out for a last minute dinner to Pantry on Park before his class Tue night.

We're becoming regulars there

The next day we picked up Daddy on his lunch break and went to the library.

We also had a picnic lunch before taking Daddy back to work.

Thur was Daddy's Open House at school. Afterwards we stopped by Starbucks for a little dessert.

We sampled some new cake pops. We're definitely in the mood for summer vacation.

May's Projects

I made Mother's Day gifts for the women in my life this year. First I made cards for my mom, sister in law, and close friends.

I drew them with pen and colored them with markers.

Then I made my Shaw-side family women coin purses.

For some added fun I wrapped them in vintage Disneyland gift bags.

Lastly I went ahead and made myself a new coin purse too!

Happy Mother's Day

Rainbow Song
by JJ Heller

Red are the rosiest cheeks I have seen
Orange is the sunset that lulls you to sleep
Yellow the birds that have folded their wings for the night

You are the sunshine on rainy days
And if I have sunshine a rainbow is coming my way

Green are the meadows you see in your dreams
Blue are the stars in the sky dark and deep
Purple's the evening that's tucking you in for the night

Cloudy days will blow away
And the sky will not always be gray

Morning in Avila

Today was one of those fluke summer heat wave days! So West and I picked up our friends and spent the morning at the beach.
